The TSIP was developed to provide inventoried data on contaminated sites across low- and middle-income countries. This was to make such data available to facilitate further pollution studies, control, and management, highlighting the alarming conditions of e-waste pollution in Ghana.  

Identification and analysis of relevant stakeholders in Environment, Health and Mining Sectors. 

TSIP site visits to e-waste processing sites, waste dumpsites, chemical formulation sites, Artisanal Gold Mining legacy sites and tannery operation sites.

Field research for heavy metal analysis in soils and samples using handheld XRF machines.  

Facilitation of discussions on data from the TSIP study to foster improvement. 

Development and implementation of communication plans including:  

  • Media engagements  
  • Stakeholder validation workshops  
  • Graphical online content for Global Database on Health Alliance on Health and Pollution
