The overall aim of the study was to assess and describe the health status and extent of exposure of handlers of e-waste to the chemicals associated with electronic waste

Scope of work:

  • Assessed the knowledge, perceptions, and practices of e-waste handlers
  • Engaged 87 participants from the Old Fadama e-waste dumpsite
  • Inspected the general state of health of e-waste workers
  • Reviewed the body burden of chemicals, comprising heavy metals and trace elements
