SUMMARY:Strengthening Partnerships for a Safer Environment: Pure Earth Team Visits GreenAd
DESCRIPTION:GreenAd was honoured to welcome a high-level delegation from Pure Earth today\, as part of ongoing efforts to deepen the longstanding partnership between our two organisations. The visiting team included: \n\n\nMr. Gabriel Sanchez Ibarra\, Vice President\, Programs\, Pure Earth \n\n\nDr. Esmond Wisdom Quansah\, Country Director\, Pure Earth Ghana \n\n\nNana Agyei Sikapa Ofosu-Manu\, Communications Officer\, Pure Earth Ghana \n\n\nThey were warmly received by Mr. Yaw Amoyaw-Osei\, Executive Director of GreenAd\, along with key members of the GreenAd team: \n\n\nDaniel Onwonah Owiredu – Programs Manager \n\n\nBennett Samuel Akuffo – Project Manager \n\n\nKojo Amoyaw-Osei – Impact Manager \n\n\nKwesi Asare Dickson – Communications Manager \n\n\nReflecting on the partnership\, Mr. Amoyaw-Osei noted\, “GreenAd served as the secretariat for Pure Earth’s operations in Ghana since its inception until they moved to their office.” This collaboration has been pivotal in advancing environmental health initiatives in Ghana. \nThe visit focused on the organizations’ joint efforts\, especially the Toxic Site Identification Project (TSIP)\, a groundbreaking initiative launched in 2009 by Pure Earth (then known as the Blacksmith Institute). TSIP aimed to identify and map toxic hotspots across Ghana using tools such as XRF soil analysis and laboratory testing. One of the most notable findings was Agbogbloshie\, identified as a high-risk area due to extreme pollution levels. \nThe delegation also toured GreenAd’s e-waste collection center at Agbogbloshie\, highlighting the organization’s frontline role in addressing e-waste challenges and protecting public health. \nAs the visit concluded\, both teams reaffirmed their commitment to explore new avenues for collaboration—working together to safeguard the environment and promote a healthier future for all Ghanaians.

SUMMARY:Cleanup Exercise
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, March 9\, 2024\, the GreenAd team together with the Assembly Member of Lashbi Electoral Area\, Hon. Justice Tettey\, and some dedicated residents\, came together for an impactful deep cleanup exercise. \nWitnessing the collective effort to address the environmental repercussions of human activity was truly inspiring. \nIt’s evident that our communal actions have carelessly led to a significant mess\, especially concerning nonbiodegradable waste like plastic bags and bottles clogging our gutters. \nThe issue of plastic waste poses a severe threat to our environment\, with dire consequences such as worsening flooding problems in Accra. It’s high time we confront this challenge head-on and take decisive action to safeguard our surroundings. \nDespite the deterring nature of the task\, we remain steadfast in our belief that together\, we can make a difference. \nLet’s commit ourselves to preserving the beauty of our environment and ensuring the sustainability of our planet. \nTogether\, let’s embark on this crucial journey to save our environment and secure a better future for all. \n#environment #sustainability #cleaning #community #lashibi #SDGs #climatechange
